Bennie Mellies is a music producer hailing from the Netherlands who has a deep passion for reggae. Born and still residing in Groningen, Bennie strives to develop and refine his skills each day. When he was just six years old, his dad taught him how to play a hammond organ, and Bennie’s curiosity led him to explore all of the organ’s features, eventually leading to the creation of his very first beat. Over time, Bennie honed his skills using various software programs such as Skaletracker, Fasttracker, Fruity Loops (FL Studio), Cubase, and Studio One. Today, he has achieved significant success with his personal website (Bennie Mellies) and on platforms as YouTube, Spotify and TikTok.
Reggae music holds a special place in Bennie’s heart due to its music, artists, culture, humbleness, and love. He loves collaborating with reggae artists because he values respect above all else. Bennie has accomplished a great deal in his career, including being featured in the Top 30 Best Marketing Blogs in the Netherlands, interviewing Neil Patel and Michael Pilarczyk, and having his music featured on the Global Reggae Billboard Charts for several weeks alongside artists such as Ziggy Marley, The Green, and Soja. He has also garnered over 1 million views on his Bennie Mellies YouTube channel, sold more than 500 beats, and won several remix competitions, as well as collaborating with companies such as CaribCreed.
Bennie has worked with over 100 artists from around the world, including Chaka Demus & Pliers, Beenieman, Chevaughn, Jah Vinci, Ben Barbic, Tjatjie, Jah Turban, Mark Balet, Henricci and many more. He has produced remixes for numerous famous musicians, including Debbie Nova, Ce’cile, Morgan Heritage, Sean Paul, Enrique Iglesias, Buju Banton, Diana King, Davina Michelle, Ishawna, Ed Sheeran, Nicki Minaj, and Ariana Grande. Additionally, Bennie has served as a ghost producer for Mavado, Kalado, Stein, I-Octane, Craiggis, Navino, and Jah Vinci.
In 2019, Bennie had three official releases, including “Pal Piso,” “Doet voor Love,” and “Bruk It,” which featured two artist of the week features at FunX. He has worked and collaborated with over 100 different producers, labels, DJs, artists, and more.
From 2021 till now Bennie did multiple releases (15) with the US artist Ben Barbic.
